This study aims to examine the parenting patterns of parents towards early childhood through a qualitative approach in the form of interviews and observations. The subjects of the study consisted of three pairs of parents and children in the Malanuza area. The results of the observation showed that the three parents had different parenting patterns: authoritative, authoritarian, and permissive. However, most of them have not fully implemented democratic parenting patterns, especially in terms of involving children in decision making. This study emphasizes the importance of two-way communication and child participation in the family as a basis for character formation and independence. It is recommended that parents improve their understanding of democratic parenting patterns in order to support optimal child development
